The Gold Glider appears in the First, Second, and All-Clear Pipes of every tour and is part of the base Daily Selects set. Unlike the Super Glider, this glider increases the chances of obtaining Coins from Item Boxes and the number of points earned from them. Similar to Mario Kart 7, it resembles the Super Glider, only with a gold color scheme. The Gold Glider returns in Mario Kart Tour as a High-End glider. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it now offers a slight boost to weight and anti-gravity speed while slightly lowering traction its stats are now identical to the Wario Wing, Plane Glider, and Paraglider. Like in the previous game, it is unlocked by collecting 10,000 coins (halved to 5,000 coins in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe), and it does not offer any stat boosts. Instead of being entirely gold, the cloth is now black, and the game logo's '8', surrounded by a wreath of olive leaves, appears in place of the character's emblem, like the Gold Standard. The Gold Glider returns as an unlockable glider in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This kart gives great speed (the 2nd biggest boost in the game) and good weight, but has a bad acceleration and handling boost, and has the worst off-road in the game.Д¬PUs never use the Gold Glider, along with the Gold Standard, and the Gold Tires, making this glider player-exclusive. When the Gold Gilder is combined with the Gold Tires and Gold Standard body, they complete the whole Gold Standard. It does, however, slightly increase the kart's gliding distance. It does not offer any stat boosts and is therefore a purely aesthetic unlockable. In Mario Kart 7, the Gold Glider can be unlocked by connecting with 100 people with StreetPass, or by collecting 10,000 coins.
